Enjoy a Foot-long sub and help a United Way Community Care Fund partner agency build a better North Central Florida.
Since 1997, Subways of Alachua County have been donating $1 for every foot-long sub purchased on Monday nights between 5-7 pm: raising well over $75,000 to date. “It is one of the most enduring, ongoing promotions we’ve had,” said Esther Yoder, owner of three of the participating Subways. “Customers tell me they come on Monday evenings just because of how it benefits the United Way.”
The program began with the intentions of creating a common bond between Subway owners and other members of the community. “We were looking for a way to let the community know that we are real live people who live in the community and support our community,” Yoder said. “They can then help support our community through us.” Yoder said it has been a successful promotion for all involved. “People appreciate our involvement in the community and we enjoy giving back,” Yoder said.
