United Way of North Central Florida Success By 6 Initiative
What is Success By 6?
Success By 6 is raising awareness of the importance of early childhood development, improving access to services and offering grants to improve young children’s lives. Since its inception, more than 5,000 children have benefited from early learning, child care, parent education, health, literacy and family resource programs in North Central Florida.
What is Success By 6 Doing?
United Way Success By 6 is helping parents provide their children with a strong foundation for school, work and life success:
- By funding $900,000 in grants that support parents and families of young children,
- By implementing a public engagement campaign called Born Learning to inform, engage and motivate parents, grandparents and caregivers to encourage early learning,
- By providing 1,000 Welcome Baby Kits for new mothers,
- By partnering with the Alachua County Library District to create Snuggle Up Centers.
