Small Business Spotlight- Gainesville Television Network

1. Tell us about your business; and what is your business philosophy?

WGFL-CBS4 and WNBW-NBC9 want to be the preferred media partner in the community. We strive to go above and beyond for our clients at all times and give them the type of customer service that we ourselves would want. I love working for a place that has this kind of mentality since it is the same way I would want to be treated.

2. Why are you passionate about your commitment to United Way’s Community Investment Fund?

The community Investment fund allows me to maximize the dollars I give to organizations that I care about. I had been donating to one of their agency partners directly until I heard the director stand up and give a pitch directly for the United Way. I realized that if your partners are that big of an advocate for what you are doing, they must be doing something right.

3. What is something interesting or surprising that most people don’t know about you?

I love lists. I have even bought books with lists of things to try, to eat, to see, etc. At one point I had a “pre-death to-do list” and used to actively check off items such as skydiving, hot air balloon riding, etc. Then I had a kid and realized it would probably not be in her best interest for me to die anytime soon.

4. What would your older self tell your younger self?

And miss all the fun surprises and lessons learned along the way? Probably nothing.

5. Favorite quote?

“It is only courage when we know the cost of failure. It is only faith when there is potential for doubt. And it can only be won when we have to fight for it.” – Naomi Zacharias
