Small Business Spotlight- Parent Dental Group

Rick Parent, Parent Dental Group

1. Tell us about your business; and what is your business philosophy?

Our belief is that there is happiness and satisfaction in treating patients that we know as individuals. Patients that seek a type of care where they are recognized for their unique needs, that is what we are here to accommodate. It is a relationship, a two-way street.

2. Why are you passionate about your commitment to United Way’s Community Investment Fund?

I have loved the life that Gainesville has provided for me and my family. The only way to express my appreciation for  that is to take care of Gainesville, return the favor.

3. What is something interesting or surprising that most people don’t know about you?

Something surprising, although I have no problem getting up in front of people or taking a leadership role in certain tasks; I am moderately introverted. I have no love or skills in "working a crowd". I'm more of a one on one person.

4. What would your older self tell your younger self?

Yikes!! Probably there would be a few "Do you really want to do that?" moments. But, the sum of the choices I've made, good and bad, make me who I am now and I'm grateful for the life lessons.

5. Favorite quote?

"One measures friendships by how they show up in bad weather." Churchill
