Kurt Morauer, President of Targeted Training Solutions
1. Tell us about your business; and what is your business philosophy?
My business is finding solutions for my client's challenges. My primary company, Targeted Training Solutions, Inc., facilitates workforce training programs and seminars for other entities. We assist in the entire process including feasibility, design, budgeting, venue management, quality control, and program administration. Our Raven Audio Visual Solutions Division provides turnkey A/V services for training, promotional events, seminars, and entertainment events. My business philosophy is to care more than others think wise, risk more than others think safe, dream more than others think practical, and expect more than others think possible. My company's Mission Statement is "To listen to the needs of our client and then create a training program or event to meet those targeted needs while bringing value to the workforce."
2. Why are you passionate about your commitment to United Way’s Community Investment Fund?
An incredible number of our citizens, particularly youth, want to succeed in life. Whether by circumstance or choice, that success has eluded them. The United Way's CIF provides the funding to programs that give those people, who are willing to put forward the effort, a new, quality opportunity to try again. The CIF allows small business owners, such as myself, the opportunity to make my contribution go farther to assist in this effort.
3. What is something interesting or surprising that most people don’t know about you?
That for almost twenty years each Easter I was the director and played the role of the Centurion in the Passion Play at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
4. What would your older self tell your younger self?
It's worth the risk of failing to go for your dreams while you are young.
5. What is your favorite quote?
Two vultures are sitting on a cactus in a desert. One turns to the other and says "Patience my a**. I'm going to kill something". The message here is don't just wait for your opportunity to come along. Go out and grab it!
