Small Business Spotlight - Leanna Iacobellis for Regis HR Group

Leanna Iacobellis, Business Development Manager for Regis HR Group

1. Tell us about your business; and what is your business philosophy?

At Regis HR Group, we put the ‘Human’ in Human Resources.  We work to provide flexible HR solutions to customize your business needs.  By offering assistance in Payroll, Employee Benefits, Safety/Risk Management and Human Resources, we allow small businesses the ability to increase their offerings and typically lower costs so they can compete with larger businesses for top level talent and business growth.

2. Why are you passionate about your commitment to United Way’s Community Investment Fund?

When you invest locally, the change can quickly be seen.  To know that our donation could be helping our neighbor or the business down the street gives a good feeling about the future for our kids and development within the area.

3. What is something interesting or surprising that most people don’t know about you?

I studied abroad for 5 months in Sydney, Australia where I sailed the Great Barrier Reef, hung out with dingos on a desolate island, and hopped around with kangaroos.   I’m also a big college football fan.  Saturdays in the fall are either spent at a game or watching a game.

4. What would your older self tell your younger self?

Try your best to keep in touch with those from your past.  I moved around a lot when I was younger and I wish I worked harder to keep some of those relationships and stay in touch.

5. Favorite quote?

"Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it."  We’re all dealt difficult situations at some point in our lives, it’s how we acknowledge and move on from those situations that define us.

Small businesses play a critical role in maintaining a thriving local economy. They are no less important to the success of United Way, as we endeavor to improve lives through our work in education, income, and health. Our Small Business Partners are an important, growing family of donors, who are vital to helping us meet the needs of our community.
