Small Business Spotlight - Xerographic

Tell us about your business and your business philosophy.

Xerographic Copy Center has been around since 1987, and I've owned it as partner or sole proprietor since the mid-nineties. Our business model has evolved over the years-- from providing walk-up consumers with copies to providing businesses with all of their print and design needs-- but we still do a little bit of everything, and provide local printing with a personal touch.

A big part of why I do what I do is because I enjoy helping our community. In an age where everything is being outsourced, we do our best to keep our work in-house. Our staff of six (which we consider family) has over 30 years of combined experience in every facet of print production. We are constantly working to keep up with this ever-changing industry, anticipate our clients' needs in order to better serve them, and provide value and an enjoyable experience with us every time.

 

Why are you passionate about your commitment to United Way's community Investment Fund?

We've always done what we could to help area nonprofits; knowing that every dollar spent with United Way's Community Investment Fund is multiplied and kept local made joining a no-brainer!

 

What is something interesting or surprising that most people don't know about you?

When I'm not at Xerographic, I can often be found on stage or behind the scenes at the Acrosstown Repertory Theatre, a volunteer-run nonprofit on South Main Street. I encourage you to check it out at acrosstown.org! I'm also ridiculously passionate about board games.

 

What would your older self tell your younger self?

Don't invest in real estate in 2008! Also, it's all going to be OK.
