Kevin Spellicy of Campbell Spellicy Engineering

1.       Tell us about your business; and what is your business philosophy?

Campbell Spellicy Engineering is a mechanical, electrical and plumbing consulting engineering firm. We specialize in building systems design for commercial and institutional buildings including power, lighting, communications, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing and fire protection systems of all types, sizes and configurations. We also provide analysis of existing building systems for identifying current condition, necessary upgrades and energy saving opportunities. Our goal is to provide each client/project with the highest level of customer service and individual attention to ensure that they are provided with most effective and efficient building systems possible.

2.       Why are you passionate about your commitment to United Way’s Community Investment Fund?

We always make an effort to contribute to our local community through sponsorship and volunteering, but United Way of North Central Florida offers a centralized opportunity to reach a wider variety of local programs. Through a single partnership, it benefits these programs by leveraging our donations with multiplied funding from outside grants and programs.

3.       What is something interesting or surprising that most people don’t know about you?

Despite being an engineer, one of my great passions is cooking and I worked as a prep chef for many years to pay for college. I still love to cook and have been known to throw many overly-elaborate dinner parties/barbecues for friends and family.

4.       What would your older self tell your younger self?

Quit worrying about what people may think. Trust yourself. Do what you believe is right and let the chips fall where they may. Do right by the people that matter to you and the rest will work itself out.
