Small Business Partner - Crosslinear Consulting

Bill Dorman of Crosslinear Consulting

1. Tell us about your business; and what is your business philosophy?
Crosslinear is a consulting firm based in Gainesville, Florida. Our team of local consultants helps successful small businesses maximize their potential and set a course for continuous improvement. We help companies develop processes and procedures that refine their corporate identity. We document the best way a company knows how to do something, and then we build training so new employees can do it the right way from the start. Simply put, we make work less work by helping people discover and deliver their best every day.

2. Why are you passionate about your commitment to United Way’s Community Investment Fund?
Our focus is local, and the United Way’s Community Investment Fund is perfectly aligned with that. Every dollar we give multiplies in value and benefits people right here in our community.

3. What is something interesting or surprising that most people don’t know about you?
By nature, I am an introvert, and I used to be terrified of public speaking. Having a group of like-minded business owners in our group of Small Business Partners makes it easier to build meaningful business relationships.

4. What would your older self tell your younger self?
Don't try to be good at everything. Focus your energy where you have natural talent and passion, then look for business opportunities where those skills add a lot of value.

5. Favorite quote?
"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it." - Steve Jobs
