- Why are you passionate about your commitment to United Way’s Community Investment Fund?
I am passionate about our commitment to United Way because our contributions stay in our community and help in so many different areas. We give in a way that’s affordable for us as a small business, but I know we are doing great things. We are able to make a difference for others that we might not have ever done. I do not want to be remembered as a great business owner, but as someone who cared about the people in my community and tried to help make a difference.
- What is something interesting or surprising that most people don’t know about you?
I have had voice lessons and sing high soprano. Also, my children are 32, 30, 22 and 11. And yes, the same marriage.
- What would your older self tell your younger self?
My older self would tell my younger self in high school “Don’t try so hard to make friends with people who really don’t care about you. Make friends with the people who are going to help you become a better version of yourself. Learn something new, try something different, and convince yourself that you have no limits.
