Small Business Spotlight- Conference Catalysts

Chris Dyer of Conference Catlysts

1. Tell us about your business; and what is your business philosophy?

Conference Catalysts provides world-class event, association, and web management solutions with a superior level of service with an individualized approach based on our clients’ specific needs.  Our philosophy is to become true partners with our clients, always predicting their needs and not reacting to them. We believe that the most fun part of business, and life, is identifying problems and finding effective solutions. Most of all, we strive to make our clients' lives easier, more enjoyable and more fulfilling, based on the service we provide.

2. Why are you passionate about your commitment to United Way’s Community Investment Fund?

We have an intimate understanding of what it means to receive support through all of our personal and professional endeavors, and we feel strongly that we must do our part to support those in need, in our community, in whatever manner we are able.

3. What is something interesting or surprising that most people don’t know about you?

I am a pretty big science and technology buff, even though I did not study it extensively in school. I think that the next 50 years will bring some insanely radical changes including a complete transfer away from fossil fuels, as well as radical life extension measures, including the "curing" of practically every disease, as we know them today.

4. What would your older self tell your younger self?

Always add value to whatever situation you are in. Read as much as you can on any subjects that interest you. Challenge yourself to come up with ideas on how to improve things every day. Always be honing your social skills and networking smartly.

5. What is your favorite quote?

"This is the beginning of a new day. God has given me this day to use as I will. I can waste it or use it for good. What I do today is important because I am exchanging a day of my life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever. Leaving in it's place something I have traded for it. I want it to be gain, not loss; Good, not evil, Success, not Failure. In order that I shall not regret the price I paid for it because the future is just a whole string of nows."
